A wedding in a zoo.

This weekend, I was so very lucky to be invited to the wedding of some very good, and very tall friends of mine, in a zoo.  It was the zoo that this film was based on, in fact.  Matt Damon wasn't there, but there were way more beautiful men, including one handsome Jaguar, and three sexy tigers.

It was far more magical than I could ever explain....involving a fancy-dress animal-themed warm-up party (where I won a prize for the fancy-dress costume most similar to their tattoo), camping in the ostrich enclosure, wake-up calls by tapiers, a morning wander around the quiet zoo, a run out onto the Dartmoor downs, being in charge of a brownie wedding-cake mountain, eating half of a brownie wedding-cake mountain, a beautiful ceremony, many peacocks, more than that many peacock feathers, a bear, music from the Jungle Book, river swimming on Dartmoor, Rich's beautiful rick shaw, a bowler hat, dancing for many bouncy hours, laugh-out-loud dinner speeches whilst eating dinner cooked by a Master Chef, a stunningly beautiful bride, more hugs from great people than I could have hoped for, a beaming groom, the most beautifully made friendship quilt, Stone Henge, tree hanging with a gorilla, two road trips, loads of sunshine, a Don Pedro and Tunnocks tea cakes for dinner, the best feeding-the-50 picnic I've ever experienced, a monogamous pair of otters, the squeaks captive otters make, the most friendly deer in the world, a salted caramel ant wedding favour....and more fun than you could reasonably fit into a weekend....oh, and of course, meercats.

The marvellous meercats.

(Orangutan obsessive, it seems.)

Arriving home after a very special weekend.

Congratulations to my tall handsome newly-wed couple.  Thank you for choosing each other, and the zoo.
